Discussion regarding the condition of the parish notice board. An elector volunteered to apply preservative oil to the board this summer.

  1. Viking Link

VL have a fund available to help relay road surfaces damaged by their vehicles. Reported damage to Folly Lane and Stickney Lane due to extra heavy vehicular traffic. Some suggestion that VL drivers have not always used the roads they built for themselves to travel over rather than the public highway. Verges are cut up badly as the highway is not wide enough.

Electors requested the Clerk write to VL about the issue.

  1. Planning Applications

No new applications received.

  1. Highways Update

Following on from the VL discussion above, the verges are noted as being particularly bad on Stickney Lane and Folly Lane remains in poor condition. Very heavy vehicles continue to cause the damage.

Electors requested the Clerk write to LCC about the issue again.

  1. Fly Tipping

Folly Lane has been cleared of waste.

No other incidents reported.

  1. A.O.B

The Chair gave a vote of thanks to Dyson Farming for hosting the meeting and for the guided tour of their new strawberry growing site.

The drain that runs along part of Folly Lane has only been partially cleared this year, which represents a potential future flood risk.

Electors requested the Clerk write to Witham Forth about the issue.
