Folly Lane and Stickney Road update (plus local council overview):

Cllr Tom Ashton provided a summary of ELDC / LCC progress on local roads.

Good progress made on funds. Extra £3m p.a made available for Highways. Over 100,000 potholes fixed each year. Richard David (Highways Portfolio holder) to tour Folly Lane soon.

The main road from New Bolingbroke to Stickney was discussed as the potentially most dangerous stretch of road in disrepair. Cllr Ashton said that total mileage of rural roads higher than funds available and that LCC are trying to do long lasting repairs rather than patch ups. Next few years plans look like better value for money on contractors` tenders. He will update us at the next meeting.

ELDC investigating relocating offices to Horncastle from Manby to provide more accessible location and a better site. ELDC setting up a company to develop their own land and deliver housing and economic projects.

The local plan has been adopted until 2031 to deliver housing on an agreed 5 year supply, and to resist speculative applications. Not perfect yet, but will be reviewed. Hoping to open up the Wolds and Fens to inland tourism.

Planning decisions and notices:

None outstanding for West Fen.

Viking Link:

Information leaflet circulated.

A.O.B:

None other than Gary Steele providing an excellent presentation and update on the West Fen bird box project and it`s progress to date.

Matters for the next agenda:

It was agreed that there would be a review of the road situation and Viking Link.

No other items were proposed.

Date and time of next meeting:

A date was set for 7.30pm on Thursday 30 April 2020 at the Beeswax Dyson site in Carrington.
